Weights & Wine - Goals For 2018

So now I've done all my looking back and reminiscing... I wanted to do a quick look forward on what I have to come this year. I find the older I get the quicker time goes and last year went terrifyingly quick especially now I'm personal training.

So before I blink and its July - let's put pen to paper (sort of) and get some goals down for the year ahead.

Personal Training

So, at the end of January I am taking my Kettlebells Qualification with @trainfitnessint and I am really excited to use this more in my personal training and also to look at exploring the opportunities to teach a kettlebells class.

I am also studying for my pre and post natal qualification, again with @trainfitnessint which I am hoping to complete by the end of year and start taking on new clients. Both excited and genuinely terrified to start studying all over again!

I must be nuts!


I love walking, I mean, I love it. Even better is last year I met a bloke who loves it just as much as I do. I have, for as long as I remember, been going on to anyone who will listen about how good walking is for mental health.

Sometimes, when everything feels a bit much I go and walk... anywhere. Even just for 20 minutes and somehow everything feels a little bit less muddled. Since I started working two jobs I have needed those walks more than ever, they continue to be by far the best thing for my personal mental health.

There is also something genuinely wonderful about being outdoors - especially with dogs.


I guess this goes hand in hand with a lot of what I said above. I have dabbled with mindfulness but never fully committed. It is something I feel could genuinely benefit me so I'm going in - 2 feet this time.

Social Media Management

By this I mean both getting on top of my social media (I'm not gonna lie I haven't been on my A game this year) and taking some time away from it. Social media is great, I enjoy it and I have met some lovely people through it. Social media can also absorb you, take away far too much of your time and make you feel a bit rubbish.



Sounds so easy doesn't it... when you're a planner, an organiser, a stress head - just like me, then you'll know this is easier said than done.

Now I'm working two jobs, I am lucky to get one full day off at the weekend. My ambition for 2018 is to spend these days watching films, sleeping in, drinking coffee in bed, contemplating getting up and changing my mind, reading books and generally lounging around.

I am sure you will all be fully supportive in my attempts to do so!

I hope that whatever goals you have set for yourself this year that you smash the heck out of them.

If you haven't, can't be bothered, don't have the time and no doubt feel guilty that you should have done... don't. You already have loads to beat yourself up for, don't add a load of 2018 goals to the list.
